Tottenham Hotspur reach Jan Vertonghen agreement

Tottenham Hotspur have reached an agreement with Ajax to sign Belgian defender Jan Vertonghen.

The 25-year-old has been long been linked with a switch to White Hart, having announced earlier this summer that he was keen to join the club.

With a deal between the two clubs now in place, the centre-back will travel to London tomorrow for a medical and discussions over personal terms.

Vertonghen scored 28 goals during a six-year stint with Ajax.
