Jan Vertonghen trains with Ajax

Tottenham Hotspur transfer target Jan Vertonghen has returned to pre-season training with his current club Ajax.

The Belgian international has been heavily linked with a switch to White Hart Lane this summer. However, the two parties are yet to reach an agreement.

As a result, Ajax boss Frank de Boer has revealed that Vertonghen trained with the squad earlier today.

"Last week we've talked with Jan and his manager and everyone is now up to date," De Boer told reporters.

"Because Ajax and Tottenham have not agreed yet, Jan starts with us today."

Vertonghen has made 155 league appearances for the Dutch side.
