Report: Danny Amendola recovery ahead of schedule

New England Patriots wide receiver Danny Amendola could return sooner than expected from a groin injury, according to a report.

Danny Amendola has made quick progress during his recovery from a groin injury and could return as soon as next weekend, according to a eports.

The New England Patriots wide receiver decided not to undergo surgery in a bid to speed up his return, having sustained the injury in the opening week of the NFL season.

It had been reported that Amendola would miss around six weeks with the injury, but Yahoo Sports now claims that the 27-year-old has been healing at a faster than expected pace, potentially making himself available for next weekend's game against the Atlanta Falcons.

Amendola joined the Patriots as a free agent earlier this year, having spent the previous four seasons with the St Louis Rams.
