Wigan quickly set about making things hard for their hosts, and took the lead after just three minutes as a Sean O'Loughlin try was converted by Matty Smith.
Saints were level soon after, with Jonny Lomax feeding Tom Makinson for a try which was converted by Luke Walsh, and they thought they had gone ahead five minutes later but a Matt Dawson effort was ruled out.
On 16 minutes Dan Sarginson put the visitors back in front with a well-worked try and the lead was six again with Smith kicking. Then it was Liam Farrell's turn, as he went over for an 18-6 lead upon conversion.
Two unconverted tries for the hosts from Makinson and Jordan Turner added to a late kick from Smith, meaning that the half-time lead for the Warriors was 20-14.
In the second half it was one-way traffic for the away team. Farrell and Joe Burgess scored a try apiece as their side kept Saints at bay on the way to a 33-14 victory.
