Catalans Dragons secure first win of season

Catalans Dragons ease to a 30-14 victory over Huddersfield Giants in the Super League.

Catalans Dragons have registered a 30-14 victory over Huddersfield Giants at home in the Super League.

The hosts surged into a 14-0 lead at half time, thanks to tries from Zeb Taia and Louis Anderson.

Anderson scored again after the break, and Morgan Escare and Elliott Whitehead added further scores.

Scott Grix, Brett Ferres and Jodie Broughton replied for Giants, but that was not enough for Paul Anderson's side to pick up anything in Perpignan.

The win was the Dragons' first in the league this season, bringing an end to their losing streak of eight competitive matches.

As for Giants, they are now seventh in the standings with six points from as many matches.
