Wolverhampton Wanderers reportedly identify Ukraine international Volodymyr Brazhko as a potential signing ahead of the end of the winter transfer window.

Wolverhampton Wanderers have reportedly held discussions with Dynamo Kiev regarding a potential deal for Volodymyr Brazhko.

The West Midlands outfit are eager to make a number of additions before the closure of the winter transfer window having dropped back into the Premier League relegation zone.

Four defeats in a row have left Vitor Pereira desperate for fresh faces, particularly in the middle of his backline and the engine room.

If reports are to be believed, Wolves have already failed to get deals over the line for Manu Silva, who has since joined Benfica, and Real Betis midfielder Johnny Cardoso.

Nevertheless, as per talkSPORT reporter Alex Crook, Wolves have since moved on to trying to sign Brazhko over the coming days.

Wolves, Dynamo Kiev in negotiations?

The report suggests that Wolves officials have already held talks with their Dynamo Kiev counterparts in a bid to agree a deal.

Brazhko has emerged as one of the Ukrainian side's key players since initially impressing out on loan at Zorya Lugansk.

Despite being viewed as a defensive-minded player, the 23-year-old has contributed 10 goals and eight assists from his 55 outings for Kiev.

He has started five of his club's seven fixtures in the Europa League this campaign, albeit each of those games ending in defeat.

Wolves are allegedly attempting to finalise a permanent deal for Brazhko, who has earned nine caps for Ukraine include one in a goalless draw in Germany last year.

With the player holding a contract until 2028, it is unclear whether Kiev will be prepared to cash in on Brazhko at the present time.

Lemina replacement?

Pereira wants to find a like-for-like replacement for Mario Lemina, who has confirmed that he is in talks to leave Molineux.

Joao Gomes, Andre and Tommy Doyle are Wolves' remaining three options for the centre of midfield, the former suspended for Saturday's Premier League showdown with Aston Villa.

Wolves have also been credited with an interest in Besiktas playmaker Rafa Silva at a time when loanee Carlos Forbs may be allowed to return to parent club Ajax.
