Ruben Neves wants to help Wolverhampton Wanderers back into Premier League

Portuguese midfielder Ruben Neves vows to help Wolverhampton Wanderers return to the Premier League during his time at the club.

Portuguese midfielder Ruben Neves has vowed to help Wolverhampton Wanderers return to the Premier League.

Wolves pulled off the signing of Neves earlier this month after agreeing a £15m deal with Porto.

The 20-year-old had previously been linked with Chelsea and Manchester United, but will play in the Championship next season after deciding to join Portuguese boss Nuno Espirito Santo at Molineaux.

Neves has said that "nothing is set in stone" as Wolves look to return to the top flight, but the midfielder wants to help the club 'return to where it deserves to be'.

"Nothing is set in stone in terms of that. We're all giving 100% to get Wolves to where the club deserves to be. It's a very competitive league with lots of games to play and everyone will be needed from the youngsters to the more experienced players," Neves told O Jogo.

"It wasn't an easy decision. I like the club but I'm a professional and I have to develop. I love FC Porto but I had to keep developing in order to achieve my career goals. I wasn't playing and I needed a fresh start to recapture the form I showed in my first year with the senior side."

Wolves will continue their preparations for the new campaign with a friendly against Leicester City this weekend.
