Report: Roma want Vlad Chiriches

Tottenham Hotspur defender Vlad Chiriches emerges as a reported transfer target for Roma.

Roma will reportedly move for Tottenham Hotspur defender Vlad Chiriches should their Moroccan centre-back Mehdi Benatia depart for the Premier League this summer.

Benatia is a transfer target for both Manchester United and Chelsea, with the pair believed to be preparing £30m offers for the defender this week.

According to the London Evening Standard, Benatia's possible departure could see Roma dip into the market for Chiriches, who is said to be unsettled in London.

The 24-year-old moved to Spurs from Steaua Bucuresti last summer and impressed during his first season in the Premier League.
