Shaquile Coulthirst has returned to Tottenham Hotspur from his loan spell with Southend United.
The 21-year-old arrived at Roots Hall in the summer, but he has found it difficult to secure a regular place in Phil Brown's starting lineup.
As a result, the striker has now headed back to White Hart Lane.
"It was something which was in the pipeline. Spurs were going to recall him in a bid to get a contract at Tottenham or somewhere else," Brown told the club's official website.
"I just couldn't guarantee that he'd get plenty of first team football here. He's been outstanding in the way he has conducted himself during his time at Southend United and I'd like to wish him the very best in his future career."
The youngster scored four goals from his 25 appearances for the Shrimpers.
