Agent: 'Tottenham Hotspur interested in Frank de Boer'

The agent of Ajax boss Frank de Boer claims that Tottenham Hotspur are interested in luring his client to White Hart Lane but admits contact is yet to be made.

The agent of Ajax coach Frank de Boer believes that Tottenham Hotspur are interested in luring his client to White Hart Lane to succeed Andre Villas-Boas.

The Portuguese's 18-month stint with the North London outfit came to an end on Monday following the 5-0 defeat to Liverpool, with De Boer since emerging as a candidate to replace the former Chelsea manager.

Although agent Guido Albers says that contact is yet to be made from Spurs, the representative claims to know of some interest from his "sources".

He told Voetball International: "Through a number of sources it has become clear to me Spurs are interested, but that club haven't contacted Ajax so far.

"So we can't say much about it now. Frank isn't thinking about it. He is fully focused on Ajax."

De Boer's prospective arrival would see him reunite with former players Christian Eriksen and Jan Vertonghen, both of whom left the Dutch champions for Villas-Boas's Tottenham.

Swansea City boss Michael Laudrup has also been touted for the vacant role, with the Dane's second-in-command Morten Wieghorst recently pouring cold water on the speculation.
