Steve Evans hails "special talent" Jonson Clarke-Harris

Rotherham boss Steve Evans advises football fans to remember Jonson Clarke-Harris's name after the "special talent" proved the match winner against Leeds.

Rotherham United boss Steve Evans has labelled Jonson Clarke-Harris a "special talent" following his match-winning performance in the 2-1 triumph over Leeds United.

The 20-year-old announced himself to the Millers fans in style by netting the winner from 25 yards on 65 minutes to see off Leeds in last night's Yorkshire derby.

It was Clarke-Harris's first goal for the club since sealing a club-record £400,000 move to the New York Stadium on deadline day, and Evans says that the youngster has all the markings of a future star.

"People should remember his name, we think he is a special talent," he told Sky Sports News. "We beat some big clubs in the Championship to get his services. He has got all the attributes in terms of physicality.

"He needs to be instilled with confidence every day and I will be the manager that gives him that. He really has every attribute. He is very talented, he is strong, but at times he has a schoolboy approach with his runs.

"We really think he could be a real find and talent, but we need to work with him."

Leeds boasted a slender half-time lead courtesy of Mirko Antenucci, before Alex Revell netted a 58th-minute equaliser.
