Report: Sergio Ramos could leave Real Madrid

A report claims that Real Madrid president Florentino Perez could allow club captain Sergio Ramos to leave the Bernabeu next summer.

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is reportedly considering allowing club captain Sergio Ramos to leave the Bernabeu at the end of the season.

The 30-year-old joined Los Blancos from Sevilla in the summer of 2005 and is fast closing on 500 appearances for the Spanish giants in all competitions.

It is understood that the centre-back came close to joining Louis van Gaal at Manchester United last summer, but ultimately put pen to paper on a new five-year contract at the Bernabeu, in addition to gaining the captaincy.

Despite his standing at Real Madrid, it his understood that Ramos's recklessness this season has been the subject of concern, with the defender already conceding four penalties in 12 appearances for club and country this term.

According to Diario Gol, club president Perez is considering allowing Ramos to leave for the right price at the end of the season, which has attracted the attention of Chelsea and Juventus.

Ramos is currently on the sidelines with knee ligament damage that he suffered during the recent international break, which could keep him out of action for the next six weeks.
