Spanish giants Real Madrid label reports that they are considering leaving La Liga as "absurd".

Real Madrid have denied reports that they are considering leaving La Liga to join the Premier League.

Spanish daily Mundo Deportivo reported on Saturday that Madrid had grown tired of "constant attacks" from La Liga president Javier Tebas.

It was suggested that the Premier League would be Madrid's preferred choice should they break away from the Spanish top flight, though Serie A and the Bundesliga were other options.

However, Los Blancos firmly denied those reports in a statement released on their official website.

"Regarding the information published today by Mundo Deportivo, in which it says that our club has studied leaving La Liga for the Premier League, Real Madrid wants to make clear that it is absolutely false," the statement read.

"What's more, it is absurd and impossible, and is only meant to once again disrupt the day-to-day of our club."

Madrid kicked off their 2021-22 campaign with a 4-1 win at Alaves on Saturday evening.
