Aragones: 'La Liga is not boring'

Luis Aragones says that La Liga is not boring as there are still two teams fighting for the title and other teams playing for a top-four place.

Former Spain coach Luis Aragones has dismissed suggestions that La Liga is boring.

Diego Simeone claimed at the weekend that the Spanish first division lacks competition after watching Barcelona defeat his Atletico Madrid side 4-1 to go nine points clear at the top of the table.

"I would not say that it is boring because there are still two teams playing for the championship," Aragones told AS. "And then there are three or four teams who are fighting out for the remaining Champions League places.

"It is not boring but perhaps it gets a bit heavy [with Barcelona's dominance].

"Real Madrid will always fight until the end and Atletico also have a chance because they are doing well."

Atletico are currently four points clear of third-placed Real.
