How Real Madrid could line up against Valencia

Sports Mole looks at how Real Madrid could line up in Sunday's La Liga clash with Valencia.

Real Madrid will be looking to make it three La Liga victories in a row when they continue their 2020-21 campaign away to Valencia on Sunday night.

Los Blancos have beaten Barcelona and Huesca in their last two league matches to occupy second position in the table, just one point behind leaders Real Sociedad with a game in hand.

Madrid will also enter the match off the back of an important 3-2 victory over Inter Milan in the Champions League, with Rodrygo Goes netting the decisive goal in the 80th minute of the contest.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how the visitors could line up at Mestalla.

Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane will again be unable to call upon Nacho, Alvaro Odriozola or Dani Carvajal through injury this weekend, while Eder Militao is still unavailable, having recently rested positive for coronavirus.

Eden Hazard and Casemiro also returned positive tests for coronavirus during the latest round of results, meaning that the pair will not be able to take part against Los Che.

Lucas Vazquez is likely to continue at right-back due to a lack of options in that area of the field, while Ferland Mendy is expected to once again keep out Marcelo at left-back.

Casemiro's absence could open the door for Luka Modric to feature alongside Federico Valverde and Toni Kroos in midfield, with the Croatian potentially operating in a deeper role.

Fit-again Hazard had been set for another start in the final third, but the Belgian's enforced absence could see Vinicius Junior feature alongside Marco Asensio and Karim Benzema in the final third.

Sergio Ramos, who is reportedly in line for a new two-year contract at the Bernabeu, scored his 100th goal for Madrid on Tuesday night and will again skipper the Spanish champions.
