European champions won 2-1 in Amsterdam on Wednesday night.

Real Madrid put themselves in the driving seat for their Champions League last-16 tie against Ajax with a 2-1 victory in the away leg in Amsterdam.

Karim Benzema opened the scoring for Los Blancos on the hour mark before Hakim Ziyech drew the hosts level with 15 minutes to go. Santiago Solari's men emerged with the win, and a second away goal, when Marco Asensio was on target in the 87th minute.
