Report: Xabi Alonso to start against Juventus

Spanish midfielder Xabi Alonso will reportedly start for Real Madrid in their Champions League clash with Juventus on Tuesday.

Xabi Alonso is expected to start for Real Madrid in their Champions League clash with Juventus on Tuesday evening.

The Spanish international made his first start of the season against Rayo Vallecano at the weekend, having been out of action for five months with a groin injury that required surgery.

The 31-year-old was substituted at the interval of the La Liga clash, but reports in Spain have claimed that the former Liverpool midfielder will start in Turin.

Sami Khedira and Luka Modric are also expected to line up in a three-man midfield for the Spanish outfit, who currently top Group B with nine points.
