Peter Ridsdale is confirmed as the new Chairman at Preston North End.

Peter Ridsdale has been confirmed as Chairman of Preston North End, the club has announced.

Ridsdale has over 24 years' experience in football, with roles at clubs such as Leeds, Cardiff and Barnsley.

"I am delighted and privileged to be joining Preston North End Football Club. Preston North End is a football club that has an incredible football heritage, a large and loyal supporter base," Peter Ridsdale told the club's official site.

"I sincerely hope that working with Preston North End's existing staff and with the continued support of its fan base, I can play a part in ensuring that we return to the Championship as a minimum in the not too distant future."

Ridsdale has been working with Plymouth Argyle over the last year, helping them towards a successful sale.
