FIFA members vote in favour of reforms at congress in Zurich

FIFA members vote in favour of reforms to address governance, accountability, transparency and diversity.

FIFA members have voted in favour of a reform package ahead of this afternoon's presidential election in Zurich.

The package, which received backing from 89% of the members, addresses governance, accountability, transparency and diversity.

The reforms include limits of term-times for executives, as well as a disclosure of how much an association or individual is paid for certain deals.

The package was passed this morning after 179 voted in favour and 22 against.

The delegates are in Zurich to elect either Gianni Infantino, Sheikh Salman, Prince Ali, Tokyo Sexwale or Jerome Champagne as Sepp Blatter's successor.

The new president is expected to be announced once the voting rounds, which get underway at 12pm, come to a conclusion.
