FIFA ban four Caribbean officials over bribery claims

FIFA ban four Caribbean officials after an investigation into alleged bribery.

Football's world governing body has banned four Caribbean officials for their part in a recent corruption scandal.

FIFA have banned Franka Pickering, president of the British Virgin Islands FA, for 18 months, while Jamaica's Horace Burrell was banned for six months.

The Dominican Republic's Osiris Guzman and St Vincent's Ian Hypolite both received 30-day bans.

Two other officials have been reprimanded and fined by FIFA, while another just was reprimanded. A further five were given warnings.

The punishments come after it was alleged that FIFA presidential candidate Mohamed Bin Hammam bribed members of the Caribbean Football Union.

Bin Hammam later received a life ban from the organisation, while vice-president Jack Warner resigned from his position following the allegations.
