Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly willing to sell Toby Alderweireld this summer after reaching an impasse in contract negotiations.

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly willing to sell centre-back Toby Alderweireld this summer due to a breakdown in talks over a new contract.

Alderweireld is a key member of Mauricio Pochettino's first team at Wembley, although he has been limited to just 17 appearances this season due to injury.

Speculation over the Belgian's future has begun to grow in recent weeks after he was left out of key games while working his way back to full fitness, with uncertainty also surrounding his contract situation at the club.

Alderweireld's current deal expires at the end of next season, but The Times reports that Spurs are refusing to meet his £150,000-a-week wage demands.

Tottenham will reportedly offer no more than £110,000 a week, and if no progress is made before the end of the season then the club are thought to be willing to cash in on the Belgian rather than lose him on a free the following summer.

The likes of Manchester United and Liverpool have been linked with moves for the 28-year-old, who is widely considered to be one of the league's leading defenders.
