Jose Mourinho open to David de Gea, Raphael Varane swap deal?

Manchester United coach Jose Mourinho could be prepared to swap keeper David de Gea for Real Madrid centre-back Raphael Varane, according to a report in the press.

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho could reportedly allow David de Gea to depart Old Trafford for Real Madrid, but only if he is given centre-back Raphael Varane in return.

De Gea has been in standout form for United in recent months and has long been a target for the La Liga outfit, although United have seemingly rebuffed all advances from Madrid for the keeper's services since his failed transfer during the 2015 summer window.

According to Don Balon, however, it is thought that Mourinho may allow Real to finally land their man should the club be prepared to part with France international Varane, who featured prominently under the Portuguese coach during his time at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The same report suggests that Madrid would still have to pay a handsome fee, as well as including Varane, should they want to sign the 26-year-old Spain international.

De Gea has earned 11 clean sheets across 15 appearances for United this term.
