Manchester United are reportedly trying to secure a late deal for AC Milan midfielder Nigel de Jong.
The Red Devils have been heavily linked with Juventus star Arturo Vidal, but reports have claimed that the former Premier League champions have ended their pursuit of the player.
Despite the club opting to pull out of a deal, manager Louis van Gaal has reportedly kept Vidal at the top of his list in the hunt for a defensive midfielder.
However, according to The Express, United are confident of recruiting former Manchester City player De Jong before tonight's 11pm deadline due to long-running talks regarding an £8m deal.
Meanwhile, United are rumoured to have agreed a £50m fee with Monaco for striker Radamel Falcao.
