Inter Milan are confident that Marcelo Brozovic will reject a number of clubs to sign a new long-term contract at San Siro.

Inter Milan CEO Giuseppe Marotta says that he is confident about agreeing a new long-term contract with Marcelo Brozovic.

The Croatia international is being targeted by a number of clubs, including Manchester United, at a time when he has just over seven months remaining on his existing terms at San Siro.

With the 29-year-old soon to be in a position where he can hold discussions with foreign clubs, Newcastle United are also said to be monitoring the situation.

However, Marotta is optimistic that he will back up the renewals with Nicolo Barella and Lautaro Martinez by convincing Brozovic to stay in Italy.

Speaking to Sky Italia, Marotta said: "We are aware of the importance of offering players an attractive destination. Inter have a history of success, players understand this and I am optimistic about the renewals.

"We managed to find agreements with Barella and Lautaro and we will continue with the rest."

Brozovic has started each of Inter's 18 matches in Serie A and the Champions League this season.
