Edinson Cavani: 'I just want to play'

Edinson Cavani expresses his contentment at being a regular part of the Paris Saint-Germain starting lineup.

Edinson Cavani has insisted that he is content to play out of position for Paris Saint-Germain.

The Uruguayan operated as a central striker with Napoli but, due to the presence of Zlatan Ibrahimovic at PSG, he has often been played in a wider attacking role by coach Laurent Blanc.

It has resulted in reports that the 27-year-old would look to leave the club to play as a centre-forward elsewhere, with Manchester United said to be interested, but he has claimed that he is just satisfied to be playing.

"The results until now are proving that everything's going well, even if I'm not playing in the same position that I had at Napoli. Anyway, the most important thing for me is to play," he told beIN Sport. "I always have the desire to score. Although I want to help the squad in the defensive phase, scoring a goal remains something incomparable."

Cavani has scored 14 Ligue 1 goals this season.
