Luke Shaw hopes to make Manchester United comeback before end of season

Manchester United left-back Luke Shaw is hopeful that he will return to action before the end of the season after seven months out with a broken leg.

Manchester United left-back Luke Shaw has claimed that he hopes to get back on the pitch before the season comes to an end next month.

The England international has been out of action since September when he suffered a double leg break during a Champions League match against PSV Eindhoven in Holland.

In the last couple of weeks, Shaw has returned to training, and is hopeful that he will make a comeback this season, despite there being just four Premier League games and an FA Cup final to go.

"I am back outside now, still with the physio but, day by day, I am getting better and fitter," Shaw told MUTV. "I am just going to keep pushing now until the end of the season and see what happens.

"At the moment, my leg feels really great every time I go outside. There was a bit of aching at the start but now they are all gone. It is just back to hard work now and hopefully I will see the fans before the end of the season."

Shaw joined United for a £30m fee from Southampton in the summer of 2014.
