Good evening! Maccabi Tel Aviv are hosting a match in the Champions League proper for the first time since 2004, taking on Ukrainian side Dynamo Kiev. The team news is already out, so let's take a look at the squads for both sides.

MACCABI TEL AVIV STARTING XI: Rajkovic, Dasa, Tibi, Ben Haim, Alberman, Zahavi, Rikan, Mitrovic, Vermouth, Peretz, Ben Basat

DYNAMO KIEV STARTING XI: Shovkovskiy, Silva, Antunes, Dragovic, Khacheridi, Veloso, Sydorchuk, Rybalka, Gonzalez, Yarmolenko, Moraes

MACCABI TEL AVIV SUBSTITUTES: Lifshitz, Ben Harush, Raly, Garcia, Miha, Itzhaki, Ben Haim

DYNAMO KIEV SUBSTITUTES: Rybka, Morozyuk, Vida, Petrovic, Gusev, Buyalskiy, Kravets

Maccabi Tel Aviv captain Eran Zahavi retains his place in the side, despite the club's top scorer having failed to find the back of the net in his last five appearances. Eden Ben Basat and Dor Peretz, who were both on the scoresheet in the league at the weekend, continue up front.

Serhiy Rebrov has rested some of his players for the trip to the lowest-ranked side in the group. Oleh Gusev and Vitaliy Buyalskiy, who scored in the draw with Porto earlier this month, are among the substitutes, as is Artem Kravets, who scored at the weekend. However, Andriy Yarmolenko, who has three goals in nine appearances so far this season, is among the starting lineup.

Ahead of this match, Maccabi Tel Aviv coach Slavisa Jokanovic told reporters: "What happened at Stamford Bridge is history. I expect we will be more competitive against Kiev and we have to believe in ourselves. Would a draw be a good result? It depends how the game unfolds. Anything could happen and we need to be ready."

Meanwhile, Serhiy Rebrov told reporters: "They are in the Champions League on merit. Porto have players sitting on the bench of a quality that Maccabi do not have on the pitch. Still, they have a good base and over the last few games we have analysed them and seen how good they are. We need to be attacking and to get into the box, that's the key. Chelsea did it and we should do too. I really like Zahavi, he is an important part of their team. I cannot say I would take him to Kiev but I like the way he plays."

These two sides last met back in 2011, when they were in the same group in the Europa League. On that occasion, both fixtures resulted in draws.

While Maccabi are in the competition for the first time in 11 years, Dynamo are also back in the group stages for the first time since the 2012-13 campaign, having spent the last two seasons in the Europa League. They haven't made it out of the groups since the 1998-99 campaign though.

The players are making their way out ready for kickoff in front of a packed crowd. It's worth noting Maccabi Tel Aviv aren't playing at their regular Bloomfield Stadium this evening, they're at the 50,000-seater Sammy Ofer Staidum in Haifa, where the national side play their home matches.

PREDICTION! With just moments until the action gets underway there's just time for a quick prediction. Despite playing away from home, Dynamo have to start as the favourites, and with such a strong bench they could really turn the screw in the second half, so I'm going for a 3-1 win for the visitors.

KICKOFF! Dynamo Kiev get the action underway.

The referee is called into action almost immediately as Eden Ben Basat makes a late challenge on Danilo Silva, giving the visitors an early free kick. Silva curls the ball in towards the penalty area, but there's no-one there to tap it home. It's a bright start for Dynamo.

GOAL! Maccabi Tel Aviv 0-1 Dynamo Kiev (Andriy Yarmolenko)

Well that didn't take very long! The visitors break the deadlock less than four minutes into the tie as Derlis Gonzalez slipped a pass through the middle for Andriy Yarmolenko, who took a touch before blasting the ball low into the bottom corner. It's a stunning finish from the midfielder.

The Ukrainian side are dominating possession in the early stages as Maccabi try to recover from letting in an early hoal. Miguel Veloso and Serhiy Rybalka pass it around in the middle, but the hosts have numbers back.

DISALLOWED GOAL! Eran Zehavi thinks that he's ended his goal drought as he runs through the middle, seemingly beating Antunes for pace before poking the ball past the keeper, but the assistant referee's flag was up, and it does appear that he was a step too early with his run.

Yarmolenko is asking questions of the Maccabi defence again, this time providing the cross towards Gonzales, but the winger is unable to control is. The home side are soon pressing down the other end, but Zehavi's cross goes behind.

The home side force the opening corner of the match, and Mitrovic takes it short, eventually getting it into a dangerous position in the box, but it ends up going well high of Shovkovskiy's crossbar.

Having struggled in the opening 10 minutes, Maccabi are starting to show a lot more promise, with Gal Alberman and Gil Vermouth both looking for runs through the middle, with the former winning a free kick, but Kiev are able to clear the danger.

BOOKING! Eden Ben Basat has brought down Danilo Silva for the second time this evening, as this time the referee loses his patience, reaching for the yellow card to make the Maccabi defender the first player in his book this evening.

CHANCE! Maccabi give DAnilo Silva far too much time and space on the ball, allowing the defender to weave his way through the middle before unleashing a low strike, but it's straight at Predrag Rajkovic, and he makes a comfortable save.

The visitors force a corner, but Yarmolenko's delivery is swiftly cleared by the hosts, allowing Peretz to go on the charge down the other end, but he's flagged for offside, immediately handing the ball back for Dynamo. After a rather frantic start, it's started to fall a little flat in the last few minutes, but the crowd are trying to encourage the home side.

CHANCE! Probably Maccabi's most promising move of the night results in the ball falling for Ben Basat, with Zehavi playing the ball over the top towards the striker, but his first touch is lacking, leaving the ball to go out for a goal kick.

CHANCE! The home side have definitely had the better of the possession in the last five minutes, with Avi Rikan playing the ball in for Zehavi, who times his run to perfection, but is forced to take the shot on on his weaker left foot, scuffing it behind.

CHANCE! Just moments after Zehavi comes close to equalising down the other end, Maccabi are scrambling in their own box as Yarmolenko tries to curl the ball in, forcing the keeper to parry is clear. Gonzalez tries to get the rebound away, but Tel Ben Haim deflects it behind.

Yarmolenko is on the move again for the visitors, making his way to the edge of the box before unleashing a curling shot, but it's another comfortable save for Rajkovic.

BOOKING! Miguel Veloso is the first Kiev player in the box this evening for a foul on Vermouth.

CHANCE! How are Maccabi not back on level terms?! Alberman makes a blistering run down the right before sending in a perfect cross for Ben Basat, but the striker's finish is a fraction wide of the target.

Ben Basat, after a rather scrappy start which saw him pick up an early booking, has really started to impose himself in the last 15 minutes, and he gets himself into the box again, but the keeper beats him to the ball to stop him getting his shot away.

Zehavi beats his man to the ball as Maccabi quickly win the ball back, providing the cross in for Dor Peretz. He and Shovkovskiy both go up for the ball at the same time, with the winger's scuffed header going just wide. The keeper is looking to the referee for a foul, but the official isn't interested.

HALF TIME: Maccabi Tel Aviv 0-1 Dynamo Kiev

So, the early goal from Andriy Yarmolenko is all that separates the two sides at half time. The home side struggled early on, but soon found their way into the tie, and have looked the better side for the last 15 minutes.

UPDATE: In the other match in Group G, Chelsea have equalised just before the break to head into half time level with Porto at Estadio do Dragao.

In the opening 45 minutes in Haifa, the visitors had slightly more of the possession, with 55% of the ball in the first half. Kiev also created more chances, with nine to Maccabi's four, with five of their efforts on target, but Predrag Rajkovic has made a string of decent saves to keep the home side in the match.

Here's Gil Vermouth of Maccabi battling with Vitorino Antunes of Kiev in the first half. The midfielder has had a fairly quiet first half. He'll need to get more involved to help Peretz and Ben Basat up front in the second half.

The players are making their way back out for the start of the second half.

SUB! Eden Ben Basat won't be coming back for the second half, as the other Tel Ben Haim is coming on in his place.

RESTART! The home side get the match back underway.

BOOKING! Avi Rikan goes in the book for a late challenge on goalscorer Yarmolenko.

PENALTY APPEAL! Tal Ben Haim I leaves too much space at the back, leaving Gonzalez to cut inside and get a curling shot away. It's deflected behind by Eli Dasa, although the visitors are insistent that it came off his arm, but the referee isn't interested in giving the spot kick.

GOAL! Maccabi Tel Aviv 0-2 Dynamo Kiev (Junior Moraes)

Derlis Gonzalez is involved again as he squares the ball to Junior Moraes after another blistering run forward, leaving the Brazilian to take a touch before unleashing a powerful curling finish into the top right corner.

That goal will be a big blow for the home side, who worked so hard to try to get back on level terms towards the end of the first half, and would have been hoping to find the equaliser early in the second half, but Derlis Gonzalez has undone them yet again. Maccabi do try to get the ball into the Dynamo box, with Mitrovic running forward, but Khacheridi is there to make the block.

Tal Ben Haim II slots the ball forward for Zehavi, who sees his ball turned behind for a corner as Maccabi push to try to get back into the match, but their set pieces haven't been testing the Dynamo defence this evening, and it's another easy clearance for the visitors.

CHANCE! The home side win a free kick in a dangerous position as Peretz is dragged down by Rybkala around 25 yards out. Zehavi stands over it and unleashes a rocket, but it doesn't quite dip enough to squeeze under the crossbar.

Maccabi have looked the more likely of the two sides since the visitors scored their second, but Yarmolenko makes another run down the other end, forcing a corner, but Tal Ben Haim II is there to head it away.

SUB! The hosts make their second change, and it's an attacking one, as midfielder Nikola Mitrovic makes way for striker Barak Yitzakhi.

BOOKING! Tal Ben Haim II has made a different since coming off the bench at the start of the second half, and he shows his pace again as he bursts down the left flank. He's about to get a cross in for Zehavi, forcing Yevhen Khacheridi to pull him back, resulting in a yellow card for the defender.

CHANCE! Zehavi lines up the free kick as a result of the foul on Ben Haim II, with the ball just outside the penalty box, but the midfielder's strike is high of the crossbar. It's the second free kick he's hit over in the second half.

CHANCE! Maccabi are really knocking on the door as Ben Haim II is on the charge again, crossing the ball across the face of goal towards Peretz, with Dragovic fuming at Khacheridi for giving the pacy winger too many room. The ball ends up flashing just wide of the post.

SUB! The visitors make their first change as Vitaliy Buyalsky comes on for Miguel Veloso.

The home side are still dominating possession, knowing that a goal now would give them a chance of rescuing something in the final 15 minutes or so of this match, but Dynamo have switched to a more defensive system, keeping the home side in their own half.

BOOKING! It's another yellow card for the home side as Tal Ben Haim I is penalised for a reckless tackle on Junior Moraes.

CHANCES! There are chances at either end as Sergiy Sydorchuk has a chance to put the win beyond doubt for the visitors with a header from a Rybalka delivery into the box, but it's claimed by the keeper. The hosts quickly press down the other end, but an acrobatic effort from Zehavi fails to trouble Shovkovskiy.

SUB! Dynamo Kiev make their second change, and it's clearly one to try to see out the win as Derlis Gonzalez, who got the assist for both goals, goes off for defender Domagoj Vida.

SUB! Micha Dor is coming on for the final 10 minutes for the hosts as Gil Vermouth heads off.

BOOKING! Vitorino Antunes goes in late on Eli Dasa, earning him the sixth yellow card of the game.

SUB! Dynamo make their final change, with the scorer of the second goal, Junior Moraes, making way for Artem Kravets.

With a flurry of substitutions, it's been a fairly stop-start few minutes, resulting in the game falling rather flat again. Dynamo are just trying to keep possession at the back to run down the remaining few minutes, while the hosts are starting to look a little weary, having spent so much of the match chasing.

Maccabi have the ball back as they continue to look for a goal back, but the crowd have gone pretty quiet as they struggle to find the gaps, with the visitors having almost the entire team behind the ball to make sure they hold on for the three points.

Dasa manages to get forward to deliver a superb low cross for the Israeli side, but it's swiftly cleared by the visitors. Dor gets it back, but this time Vida is in the right place at the right time to head it away for Dynamo.

There are three minutes of stoppage time to come, with the visiting side back on the ball just trying to keep it at the back for the remaining few moments.

Kravets slips through, unleashing a sliced finish from a tight angle to try to add a third in the final seconds, but he scuffs it just over.

FULL TIME: Maccabi Tel Aviv 0-2 Dynamo Kiev

So a goal in each half from Andriy Yarmolenko and Junior Maoraes hand Dynamo Kiev their first win of the group stage of this season's Champions League, beating Maccabi Tel Aviv. The result is enough to move the Ukrainian side to the top of Group G.

UPDATE! Dynamo are top because Porto have beaten Premier League champions Chelsea in the other fixture in this group. You can find all of the other results from this evening's matches here.

So, that's all from this match, but join us again tomorrow when the other 16 sides in the competition will be in action. Until then, thanks for joining me this evening. Goodbye.
