Liverpool head coach Arne Slot cannot call upon the suspended Darwin Nunez for Tuesday's Premier League battle with Nottingham Forest at the City Ground.
The Uruguay international was cautioned for the fifth time in the top-flight season during the 2-2 draw with Manchester United two weekends ago, thus incurring a one-game ban.
However, the profligate Nunez was never expected to force his way into Slot's starting lineup for the trip to the City Ground, where multiple changes will be made from Saturday's 4-0 triumph over Accrington Stanley in the FA Cup.
Nunez's spot up top should be claimed by Luis Diaz, while Mohamed Salah and Cody Gakpo will no doubt demote Federico Chiesa and 16-year-old protege Rio Ngumoha down to the bench.
A goal for Gakpo on Tuesday will see him become just the eighth Dutchman to score in four successive Premier League matches, and only the second from Liverpool after Dirk Kuyt, and his efforts should be aided by Curtis Jones.
The fit-again Dominik Szoboszlai was recalled for the visit of Accrington, but Jones can now be expected to take the Hungarian's place, while Alexis Mac Allister and Ryan Gravenberch reform their midfield partnership after enjoying hard-earned rests at the weekend.
Trent Alexander-Arnold led Liverpool out on Saturday and came up with a true captain's contribution - a wonderful long-range goal - and there is nothing to suggest that he will lose his spot to Conor Bradley.
The Real Madrid-linked man is therefore set to welcome Virgil van Dijk, Ibrahima Konate, Alisson Becker and Andy Robertson back to the rearguard, while Joe Gomez is the visitors' only injury concern as he manages a hamstring problem.
Liverpool possible starting lineup:
Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson; Mac Allister, Gravenberch; Salah, Jones, Gakpo; Diaz
