Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp planning for next season

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp says that the club are already planning for next season.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has insisted that the club are already planning for next season.

The Reds failed to win a piece of silverware on Sunday as they lost on penalties to Manchester City in the League Cup final at Wembley.

Klopp replaced Brendan Rodgers as manager in October and has made two signings, including Marko Grujic and Joel Matip, for next season.

There are 11 league games left to play for Liverpool, as well as a Europa League campaign that will see them face arch rivals Manchester United in the last 16, but Klopp is already looking to the future.

"Yes we are planning for next season," The Guardian quotes Klopp as saying. "Clearly we plan for next season. We have to wait for the right decision and we have to think about a lot of things.

"There is nothing to say yet. It is not I can say that we are close to this decision or that decision, but we work the whole day and it is not just preparing for games. In the end we have to plan for the future and that is what we are doing."

Liverpool are ninth in the Premier League table, nine points off fourth spot with a game in hand.
