Liverpool are concerned that Alisson Becker's hamstring injury, which he suffered earlier this month, could keep him sidelined until December, according to a report.

Alisson has been a key player in Arne Slot's squad, having started in six of the team's first seven Premier League matches under the Dutch coach.

However, the 32-year-old had to be substituted in the 79th minute after suffering a hamstring injury during the Reds' 1-0 league victory over Crystal Palace on October 5.

As a result, the Brazilian shot-stopper was forced to sit out the side's win against Chelsea last weekend and it seems that his return to action could now be further away than originally anticipated.

Alisson potentially ruled out until December

During a crucial week for Liverpool, with matches against RB Leipzig in the Champions League and Arsenal at the weekend, Football Insider reports that there is a new injury concern regarding Alisson.

Behind the scenes at Anfield, it is believed that the Brazilian is unlikely to return until December, as the Premier League giants plan to exercise extra caution due to the 32-year-old's persistent injury concerns.

Alisson was initially expected to be sidelined until the November international break, but this latest update suggests that the shot-stopper could be out for at least two weeks longer than originally expected.

The Brazil international has now missed 40 games due to injury for Liverpool over the past five seasons, more than any other Premier League goalkeeper during that period.

In a press conference last week, Slot acknowledged that Liverpool are reviewing Alisson's injury history and are working to address it before allowing him to return to action.

He said: "Yeah, we are looking into what could be the reason. One of the things we all know is that if you have one then the chances of getting another one always go up. We have tried to be really careful with him."

Liverpool injury woes extend beyond Alisson

Liverpool's injury concerns are not limited to just Alisson, though, as the Reds are also likely to be without Diogo Jota and new signing Federico Chiesa for their trip to the Emirates Stadium this weekend.

Chiesa's time at Anfield has been far from ideal, as the Italian winger has played just 78 minutes across three appearances since arriving from Juventus in the summer.

"With Federico, he missed a complete pre-season and then went into a league where the intensity might be higher than the Italian league," Slot explained.

Regarding Jota, the Liverpool boss added, "We all saw Diogo get a knock when he was trying to go towards goal and was brought down. It is bruised, so we'll have to see how long it is going to take."

The 27-year-old Portuguese international lasted just 30 minutes in their match against Chelsea before he was forced off with a knock and replaced by Darwin Nunez.
