Jordan Henderson targets Real Madrid, Chelsea riposte

Liverpool's Jordan Henderson issues a rallying call to his teammates to get over the Newcastle defeat and concentrate on upcoming battles with Real Madrid and Chelsea.

Jordan Henderson has rallied his Liverpool teammates to put recent disappointments to one side and focus on making amends in upcoming clashes with Real Madrid and Chelsea.

The Reds slumped to a 1-0 defeat to Newcastle United on Saturday - their fourth of the Premier League season - as far bigger tests lie ahead for Brendan Rodgers's side.

They travel to Madrid for a crucial Champions League clash with the Blancos on Tuesday, before resuming domestic duties by hosting the high-flying Blues at Anfield on Saturday.

However, Henderson insists that he is looking forward to the double-header and hopes that Liverpool can restore pride with "two good performances".

"They are two big games, two games to show that we can score goals and defend better," Henderson told Sky Sports News.

"We'll look forward to that still. We'll work hard during the week and put in two good performances, hopefully, against two top teams."

The Merseyside outfit sit third in Group B on three points, six behind leaders Real Madrid and level with Ludogorets Razgrad in second and fourth-placed Basel.
