Hull City boss Steve Bruce: 'We had to battle to earn point'

Hull City boss Steve Bruce feels that the 1-1 draw was the fair result in the clash between his side and Queens Park Rangers at the KC Stadium.

Hull City boss Steve Bruce has admitted that his side were forced to battle to take a point from their Championship clash against Queens Park Rangers.

Charlie Austin put the R's ahead in the 26th minute, but the Tigers managed to equalise just before the break through Michael Dawson.

Neither side was able to force home the advantage in the second half, and Bruce believes that the 1-1 draw was a fair result in a tough match for his side.

Bruce told BBC Sport: "It was a bit of a struggle. I thought for the first 20 minutes we did ok. Their goal seemed to set us back a bit and it was difficult and we found it hard going.

"We couldn't really play with the intensity that we needed to play with against a decent QPR team.

"We've got no divine right to turn over QPR and to be fair to them they've come here and played very, very well and made life difficult for us."

Hull are third in the Championship after eight matches this season.
