Freiburg 5-3 Hoffenheim

Freiburg prevail over Hoffenheim in an eight-goal thriller at the Mage Solar Stadion.

Freiburg have triumphed 5-3 over Hoffenheim in thrilling contest at the Mage Solar Stadion.

The visitors took an early lead through Matthieu Delpierre, who struck in the second minute of the game.

Karim Guede got Christian Streich's men back on level terms in the 17th minute, before Max Kruse nodded home Julian Schuster's cross to put the hosts in front for the first time.

Bosko Vukcevic restored parity in the 57th minute, but Freiburg went back in front when Fallou Diagne powered home another Schuster centre.

It was proving to be an entertaining encounter that ebbed and flowed. The topsy-turvy nature of the game was underlined by Takashi Usami's leveller after 76 minutes.

His right-footed shot from distance whistled past Oliver Baumann in the Freiburg goal.

Despite being pegged back, Freiburg stepped up a gear and goals from Cedric Makiadi and Sebastien Freis gave them a memorable victory.
