Chelsea have reportedly made a loan offer for Paris Saint-Germain forward Edinson Cavani.
The 32-year-old, who is out of contract at the end of the 2019-20 campaign, has handed in a transfer request at the Parc des Princes as he looks to secure a switch away from the club this month.
Manchester United, Atletico Madrid and Chelsea are among the clubs to be linked with the Uruguay international, who is PSG's all-time record goalscorer.
According to The Times, Frank Lampard's side have offered to cover Cavani's £360,000-a-week wages for the remainder of the season, in addition to paying a £5m loan fee.
The report claims that the proposal would cost Chelsea in the region of £12m, although it is unclear whether they would then attempt to sign the experienced forward on a free transfer this summer.
PSG allegedly value Cavani in the region of £23m despite his contract situation, though, and believe that there will be interest from clubs at that price before the January window closes.
A move for the South American could open the door for Olivier Giroud to leave the Blues this month.
