Chelsea winger Juan Mata insists that it is not impossible for his side to beat Barcelona in the semi-finals of the Champions League.

Chelsea winger Juan Mata has claimed that it is not impossible for his side to beat Barcelona in the semi-finals of the Champions League.

The Blues will take on the current holders of the competition following Wednesday night's 2-1 win over Benfica at Stamford Bridge.

Despite the daunting task of taking on what many consider to be the greatest club team of all time, Mata believes that Chelsea can pull off an upset.

"In football nothing is impossible," he said. "Of course it is difficult, they play so well, away and at home in Barcelona. But we will try, for sure."

A last-minute Andres Iniesta goal helped Barca knock Chelsea out of the semi-finals back in 2009.
