UEFA will reject any request by Celtic to play one of their home Champions League fixtures outside of Scotland next season, according to a report.
The Glasgow outfit would need to find an alternate venue to host any summer European matches, with Celtic Park, Ibrox and Hampden Park all at use as the Commonwealth Games venues.
The club has earmarked grounds in England and Ireland as potential solutions, but UEFA will reject any attempt by Celtic to play a home match outside of Scotland under rule 12.7 of Champions League regulations, according to BBC Sport.
Celtic are said to be planning to cite their 1984 Cup Winners Cup clash with Rapid Vienna at Old Trafford as a president in their defence, but UEFA ordered that match to be played on neutral ground due to controversy in the second leg at Celtic Park.
Murrayfield stadium in Edinburgh, the home of Scottish rugby, is said to be the most likely venue to host any potential summer Champions League fixtures that involve the Hoops.
