Jake Bidwell hails Lee Carsley impact

Brentford midfielder Jake Bidwell admits that the team would like to see interim head coach Lee Carsley take charge on a permanent basis.

Jake Bidwell has praised the impact of Lee Carsley since he was appointed at Brentford's interim manager.

The former midfielder took charge last month following Marinus Dijkhuizen's dismissal, but has stated that he does not intend to stay in the post beyond the end of this season.

Following the team's 1-0 win over Queens Park Rangers in the Championship this evening, the midfielder told Sky Sports News: "We're on a good run at the minute but we've just got to keep this going as long as we can. The last few games have really shown what we're about. We've got to keep our feet on the ground and take it one game at a time.

"We changed the manager. You can see the place is buzzing tonight. Results speak for themselves. All the lads love him. I think the lads would love him to take it on but at the end of the day he'll do what's right for him."

The Bees have won their last four league matches, moving them up to 10th in the table.
