Bournemouth will be looking to avoid setting a new club record when they play host to Nottingham Forest in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

Bournemouth will be hoping to avoid setting a new club record when they face Nottingham Forest in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

Having started the season as favourites for relegation, the Cherries will be content with sitting outside of the bottom three at the midway point of the campaign.

However, since Gary O'Neil went through his first six matches in caretaker charge without suffering a defeat, Bournemouth have put together a dismal run of form.

The South Coast have only avoided defeat on two occasions in 12 games, beating Everton in the EFL Cup and Premier League in the same week in November.

Those two wins came directly before the World Cup break, and a virus contributed to the club losing their first competitive matches back in action.

Nevertheless, Bournemouth's losing run now stands at six games, the most recent setback coming by a 2-0 scoreline at Brentford on January 14.

That scoreline marked the fourth time in succession that Bournemouth have lost without getting on the scoresheet, their only goals since November 12 coming in the 4-2 reverse at home to Burnley in the FA Cup third round.

Should Bournemouth lose to Forest at the Vitality Stadium without netting a goal, it will mark the first time in their entire history that they have succumbed five times in a row in league matches without a strike to their name.

Before their recent drought in the Premier League, Bournemouth had netted eight times in matches with Tottenham Hotspur, Leeds United and Everton.

On a positive note, Bournemouth are unbeaten in five league fixtures against Forest, prevailing on four occasions.

Earlier this season, O'Neil witnessed his side overturn a two-goal deficit to register a famous 3-2 success at the City Ground in just his second contest in charge.

Meanwhile, Forest will be bidding to win three Premier League matches in a row without conceding for the first time since March 1992.
