Half-Time Report: Blackpool level with Huddersfield Town

Blackpool reach half time level with Huddersfield Town at Bloomfield Road.

Blackpool have reached the interval level with Huddersfield Town in their final Championship game before dropping into League One.

The Terriers almost made a perfect start inside the first minute from Tommy Smith's cross, but James Vaughan missed the target on his return from injury.

On 11 minutes, Mark Hudson squandered a chance to put Huddersfield in front when he rose highest to meet Jacob Butterfield's corner only to head over the bar from six yards out.

Later in the half, Town had their best opportunity to break the deadlock when Vaughan turned provider for the recalled Joe Lolley, whose strike was kept out by Elliot Parish before the Tangerines shot-stopper saved a follow-up effort from former Blackpool forward Ishmael Miller.

The chances continued to come for Huddersfield, with Oscar Gobern being denied by a flying save from Parish while Joel Lynch headed narrowly wide from the subsequent corner.

Blackpool carried a greater threat after the half-hour mark when Peter Clarke brought a stop out of keeper Alex Smithies before the former Huddersfield defender's header was inches away from creeping inside the post moments later.

Charles Dunne then had an effort saved as Lee Clark's men couldn't convert their late chances into a half-time lead.
