Preview: Blackburn Rovers vs. Brighton & Hove Albion

Sports Mole looks ahead to the Championship match at Ewood Park on Tuesday night as Blackburn Rovers entertain Brighton & Hove Albion.

Brighton & Hove Albion will be looking to put an absolutely dismal week behind them and reignite their Championship playoff hopes when they travel to Blackburn Rovers on Tuesday night.

Oscar Garcia's side lost all three games over the past seven days, failing to score in defeats to Ipswich Town, Sheffield Wednesday and Middlesbrough.

Despite their pointless return, other sides in the hunt for the top six also stuttered and so Brighton are just four points shy of Reading in sixth, with the trip to Blackburn their game in hand on the majority around them.

The only fresh injury concern that Garcia has is the likely absence of Will Buckley, who was forced off in the first half against Boro with a hamstring problem.

Hosts Blackburn, meanwhile, also had a winless week but did manage to get a point out of each of their three matches.

It was an exhausting trio of games for Gary Bowyer's side, who drew against league leaders Leicester City last Saturday before scoring injury-time equalisers against Watford and Millwall.

Grant Hanley was sent off yesterday against Millwall but Rovers have appealed the decision so the Scottish centre-back could be available in two days' time.

Joshua King scored Rovers' late leveller at The Den after coming off the bench and both he and Tom Cairney could get back in the starting lineup at Ewood Park on Tuesday.

The reverse fixture at The Amex in November was an easy win for Brighton as they cruised to a 3-0 triumph.
