Pep Guardiola stunned by Robert Lewandowski performance

Pep Guardiola admits that he was left shocked by Robert Lewandowski's five-goal display in the victory over Wolfsburg.

Pep Guardiola has revealed that he was left stunned as Robert Lewandowski scored five times in nine minutes against Wolfsburg on Tuesday night.

Lewandowski was introduced at the start of the second half and he changed the course of the match as Bayern came from behind to claim a 5-1 victory on a memorable night at the Allianz Arena.

Despite the disappointing first-half display, Guardiola was unable to hide his delight as he reflected on an emphatic triumph.

"I've never experienced such a thing, either as coach or as a player," the Bayern boss told reporters.

"Five goals in nine minutes. I am very happy for Robert. You play poorly for 45 minutes and then grab five goals in nine minutes. I cannot explain it."

Bayern will look to maintain their 100% Bundesliga record when they travel to Mainz 05 on Saturday.
