Barcelona are reportedly considering making an attempt to re-sign Neymar this summer, with the attacker being told that he is free to leave Paris Saint-Germain during the current market.
The 31-year-old's father recently played down suggestions that the Brazil international had told the French champions that he wants to seek pastures new before the window closes.
However, it is believed that PSG are keen to move him on this summer, with new head coach Luis Enrique looking to take the team in a different direction.
There is thought to be Saudi Arabian and MLS interest in Neymar, who could miss his side's Ligue 1 opener against Lorient on Saturday amid the speculation surrounding his future.
However, according to The Independent, Barcelona are considering whether it would be possible to re-sign the South American on loan for the 2023-24 campaign with an option to buy next summer.

PSG are thought to want at least £50m for Neymar, which would be difficult for Barcelona due to their financial problems, but an initial move on loan is thought to be possible.
Neymar made the move to Camp Nou from Santos in 2013, and he went on to enjoy four highly-successful seasons with the Catalan outfit before a surprise move to PSG.
The Brazilian scored 105 goals and registered 76 assists in 186 appearances for Barcelona, winning two La Liga titles, three Copa del Rey crowns, the Champions League, the Club World Cup and the Spanish Super Cup.
Neymar has made 173 appearances for PSG, meanwhile, scoring 118 goals and registering 77 assists, adding another 13 trophies to his cabinet during his time in the French capital.

The forward missed a large part of last season due to an ankle injury, but he still managed to score 18 goals and register 17 assists in 29 appearances in all competitions.
Lionel Messi left PSG when his contract expired at the end of June, while there is also ongoing speculation surrounding the future of Kylian Mbappe.
Enrique's side are said to be attempting to sell the France international this summer due to his contract situation, but the forward has allegedly made it clear that he will not be leaving the club under any circumstances before the end of the window.
Mbappe's stand-off makes an exit for Neymar even more likely, and it is believed that he could move to the Saudi Pro League if a switch to Barcelona does not occur.
The La Liga champions, who have signed Oriol Romeu, Ilkay Gundogan and Inigo Martinez in the current market, will move for at least one more forward this summer due to Ousmane Dembele's imminent transfer to PSG.
