Luis Enrique: 'Barcelona lost control'

Barcelona manager Luis Enrique admits that Deportivo La Coruna's brave approach paid off as his side conceded twice in the final 13 minutes to surrender a 2-0 lead.

Barcelona manager Luis Enrique has said that his team were in control until the final 15 minutes of their 2-2 draw with Deportivo La Coruna and praised the opposition for coming back to score twice late on.

The visitors netted twice in the final 13 minutes to shock a dominant Barca and come back from 2-0 down to draw at Camp Nou for the second season running to dent the Catalan side's La Liga title bid.

Enrique admitted that Deportivo's approach to the game was not one that they are used to facing, and said that the result highlighted the fact that a two-goal lead can be a dangerous scoreline.

"Tactically it was a very different game from what we are accustomed to," he told the club's website. "They put three players up high to create pressure and went with a seven-on-seven game in their half.

"We had everything under control until the 30-minute mark of the second half, [but] Deportivo had a brave strategy and in the end the result shows that it worked out for them.

"It just goes to show that games are not over even when you are up 2–0. It is not the result that we deserved but it shows that we have to be plugged in for all 90 minutes. I did not see any of my players sit back and relax, [but] when it is 2–1 the opponent feels braver and with a better chance. It was under control because we were good defensively until the last fifteen minutes."

The draw saw Barca miss the chance to move five points clear at the top of the table ahead of Sunday's La Liga fixtures.
