Hamburger SV close in on Johan Djourou

Arsenal defender Johan Djourou is close to completing a move to Hamburger SV on a season-long loan.

Hamburger SV sporting director Oliver Kreuzer is confident that a deal to loan Arsenal defender Johan Djourou will be completed on Friday.

Djourou spent the second half of last season on loan at Hannover, but despite their desire to seal another deal for the centre-back, the Switzerland international appears to be close to joining one of their Bundesliga rivals for the next 12 months.

Kreuzer told the Hamburger Morgenpost: "I am sure that the transfer will go through. We will definitely know it by Friday."

The 26-year-old did not make a Premier League appearance for Arsenal last season.
