Arsene Wenger: 'I am not fearful of possible Alexis Sanchez exit'

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger insists that he is "not fearful" of the prospect of star striker Alexis Sanchez leaving the club next year.

Arsene Wenger has admitted that he is "not fearful" of the prospect of Alexis Sanchez leaving Arsenal next year.

The 29-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season and is widely believed to have rejected a new deal at the Emirates Stadium.

As a result, speculation over Sanchez's future is rife, with the likes of Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain said to be after the striker's signature.

On Thursday night, the Chilean scored twice as Arsenal claimed a 3-2 win at Crystal Palace and, after the game, Wenger acknowledged that questions will be asked over his star player's future.

"I am not fearful but as you said that will be a subject that arises because of his contractual situation," the Frenchman told reporters.

"I never questioned his commitment but when you have his contract situation and have as a good a game, people question you. I can only repeat what I said until now."

Man City tabled a £60m bid for Sanchez in the summer but Arsenal failed to find a replacement in time and the deal fell through on deadline day.
