Arsene Wenger: 'Thierry Henry will have to adapt to make it in management'

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger reveals that club legend Thierry Henry will have to make several adaptations as he looks to develop a career in coaching.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has suggested that club legend Thierry Henry will have to go through a "psychological and mental transformation" should he want to build a career in management.

The pundit is currently working with Arsenal's youth team while conducting his coaching badges, and Wenger has revealed that his former star striker will learn a lot as he seeks to make a transition into a different side of the game.

"[Henry] will discover what the job is about and you have to go through that process if you want to one day manage a football team," Wenger told the club's official website.

"The job of a player is centred on you and the job of a coach is centred on others. You find you just focus on others and how you can help them.

"It demands a psychological and mental transformation that is not always easy. It also demands how to get what you know is available in other people in the most simplistic way."

Henry made 254 appearances for Arsenal between 1999 and 2007, scoring 174 goals.
