Ramires admits Francis Coquelin foul

Ramires admits that Chelsea's first goal in their 2-1 win over Arsenal should not have stood on Sunday after he fouled Francis Coquelin in the build-up.

Chelsea midfielder Ramires has admitted that he fouled Arsenal's Francis Coquelin in the build-up to the Blues' first goal on Sunday.

The European champions beat the Gunners 2-1 at Stamford Bridge after goals from Juan Mata and Frank Lampard were enough to survive a second-half Theo Walcott strike.

However, the Brazilian international concedes that Mata's strike should not have been allowed after he fouled Coquelin before the hosts broke away to take the lead.

"Yeah, it was a foul," Ramires told Sky Sports News.

"[But] the win has much importance for us. In the last three games we had one win, one loss and a draw so it was important for us to win today."

The victory was Chelsea's first at home in 2013.
