Philipp Lahm: 'There are no favourites for Bayern vs. Arsenal'

Bayern Munich star Philipp Lahm says that there is no clear favourite for their clash with Arsenal in the Champions League.

Bayern Munich's Philipp Lahm believes that there are no favourites in their Champions League clash with Arsenal on Wednesday.

The Bundesliga champions beat the Gunners in last season's competition en route to winning the tournament, but the versatile German international does not believe that the 2013 tie will be a factor this week.

The Mirror quotes him as saying: "The matches of the past year are history. Now we live in the present and we know how much Arsenal have improved.

"People expect Bayern to be favourites. But it is very close. Each team has a 50-50 chance. We must play with patience and maturity."

Bayern are looking to become the first-ever team to retain the Champions League this season.
