Timea Bacsinszky fights back to beat Monica Niculescu

Timea Bacsinszky comes from a set behind to overcome Monica Niculescu in three sets in the Wimbledon fourth round.

Timea Bacsinszky has reached the Wimbledon quarter-finals for the first time in her career with a comeback win against Monica Niculescu.

The 15th seed had looked on course for a fourth-round exit before storming back to win by a 1-6 7-5 6-2 scoreline.

Bacsinszky, who reached the semi-finals of the French Open last month, failed to settle in the first set, dropping serve on three occasions to allow Niculescu the chance to move closer to the last eight.

However, the second set saw the Swiss improve and she held her composure to break towards the end of the set and take the match into a decider.

The third turned out to be straightforward for Bacsinszky, who broke three times on the way to sealing her passage through to the next stage.
