Novak Djokovic 'always felt in control' against Jo-Wilfried Tsonga

Novak Djokovic says that he was always in control of his Shanghai Masters final encounter against Jo-Wilfried Tsonga.

Novak Djokovic has revealed that he always felt as though he was in command of his encounter against Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in the final of the Shanghai Masters earlier today.

The world number one needed just one hour and 18 minutes to defeat the Frenchman 6-2 6-4 and also win the competition for the third time in the last four years.

"Generally I felt always in control of the match. I felt like I've done everything right," the Serb said during his post-match interview.

"I've won many of my service games very comfortably. I didn't allow him to get into the rhythm, get into the match. Today's match, and overall the tournament, it's gone incredibly well for me."

The title was the ninth that 28-year-old Djokovic has won this year.
